Alexander Update 2 months post operation for muscle lengthening and foot repositioning
Today AJ did a photo shoot in support of #capesforkids, a new fundraising campaign for Holland Bloorview. This really was the perfect opportunity to highlight exactly how I see my son. This young teenage boy, born with Cerebral Palsy, specifically Cerebellar Hypoplasia, has taught me and continues to teach me and those around him, there really are no boundaries or limits except the ones you set for yourself. In the last week, Alexander has begun relearning how to walk again using different muscles and flat feet for the first time in years. It is painful and frustrating but he is making progress (while complimenting and singing to all the nurses in the process). Anytime I've ever had any doubts, ashamed as I am to admit that, he's literally obliterated them with his resilience and perseverance. It hasn't been an easy process but nothing worth it ever is. I'm surrounded by truly amazing people every day but the one person who I get strength and inspiration from daily is this guy.?? Less than a month left to go till he comes home.. thank you to all our amazing friends and family for the continued support in this lengthy process, it is so appreciated.
