This summer I had the pleasure of returning to Camp Strive Learning Centre, at YMCA Geneva Park, for our third consecutive year. I can't say enough about @strive4kids and the Founder Tunde Oroveczne. She is unwavering in not only advocacy for these kids to have the right to be included, but she won't put up with any self-pity bullshit. It's this quality in particular which I hold in such high regard. As a parent, it can be very challenging finding people who understand the circumstances and will also, without prompting, go the extra mile for your child. There is no other place in the country, and I know, I've looked, that allows your child to have physical therapy and independence in such a beautiful, safe environment, where parents can also have a mini vacay while still being able to be involved. I travelled to Budapest for a month for this therapy and over the moon that this is here and now an option. For all special needs families, @strive4kids is definitely something you should look into. If anyone would like to meet her or ask questions, I will be bringing Tunde into Variety Village on the week of August 12th. Information will be left with Carly, head camp coordinator of Variety Village.
